TRIBUNA PASQUAL MARAGALL José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero ha hecho lo que debía: expulsar del Partido Socialista a unas personas que no han honrado su compromiso con los electores. Ahora sufrirán el peso de su irresponsabilidad y el de sus eventuales concomitancias con los beneficiados por su acción. Zapatero es la única esperanza de reconducción de la política española. España está hoy embarcada en una ruta sin destino. El Gobierno popular no ha resuelto los temas pendientes del avance de España hacia una definitiva reconciliación interior y hacia una posición significativa en el escenario europeo. Zapatero es también la esperanza del avance serio hacia la España plural y la garantía de la evolución firme y sensata en un sentido federal del Estado de las autonomías. Desde Catalunya observamos con preocupación creciente la fosa que se abre entre las posibilidades y las necesidades de España. La desatención hacia la calidad de los servicios públicos, la serie ininterrumpida de desastres que se han ido sucediendo desde mayo de 2002, el enquistamiento y radicalización de la situación vasca, la toma de posición internacional a favor de una guerra injusta y de consecuencias aún por ver, la desaceleración económica... todo indica que estamos inmersos en un periodo negativo de la gobernación de este país. Los hombres y mujeres del Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya vislumbran esperanzados la proximidad de un cambio político en Catalunya. Después de más de veinte años de dominio de CiU asistimos al final de un mandato legislativo marcado por una inédita alianza con el nacionalismo español más descarnado. Corremos el peligro de abordar la reforma del Estatut lastrados por la falta de credibilidad que comporta la renuncia del gobierno convergente a afrontar esta cuestión para asegurarse la supervivencia en el Parlament de Catalunya, como ha sucedido en los últimos cuatro años. El cambio de gobierno es imprescindible. Ninguno de los temas esenciales de la vida de los ciudadanos ha sido abordado seriamente: ni la educación, ni la vivienda, ni la inmigración, ni la financiación de la sanidad, ni el déficit fiscal, ni las infraestructuras, ni las dificultades de los estudiantes jóvenes, trabajadores y emprendedores. Ninguno. Las soluciones están a nuestro alcance. Y será mucho más posible lograrlas con un gobierno español digno del siglo XXI, un gobierno eficaz, dialogante y progresista. Y lo tendremos también al alcance en el 2004. Estamos cerca de dos consultas a los ciudadanos que pueden cambiar este estado de cosas. Mantendremos el rumbo. Y vamos a confiar en el socialismo federal, la única fuerza política estatal capaz de acompañarnos para abrir un periodo nuevo e ilusionado de la política en Catalunya y en España.
